Glycolic acid, extracted from the sugar cane fermentation process, is a sustainable cosmetic-grade ingredient with excellent anti-aging skin benefits. It is also vegan-friendly.

Glycolic acid belongs to the AHA family. It has the smallest molecule among all family members. It is the most effective AHA due to its ability to penetrate the skin more readily and deeper than other AHA members.  

This ingredient should only be handled by professionals due to its low pH.

Formulation guidelines:

• Add it at the cool-down phase (when the temperature is equal to or below 40°C(104°F)
• Suggested use rate: 5-15%
• Keep the pH 4.0 - 4.5 in the finished products 
• Make sure you know how to calculate the final concentration of glycolic acid in your product.
