Descriptions
INCI Name: Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7
CAS#: 221227-05-0
Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 (GQPR) is a synthetic peptide and signaling molecule used in cosmetics to increase skin firmness and collagen production. It's the major one of the two peptides in the Matrixyl 3000 duo. In the past, it was also called Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3.
Palmioty tetrapeptide-7 is a lipopeptide designed to mimic DHEA activity and restore cytokine balance to mature skin. The lipo-tetrapeptide with sequence Pal-GQPR, a fragment of immunoglobulin G, is sometimes referred to as the "youth hormone molecule."
Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 reduces Interleukin-6 (IL-6) production by the critical cells, keratinocytes and fibroblasts, in the skin. Interleukin-6 is a mediator of inflammation that accelerates the degradation of extracellular matrix components, promoting wrinkle formation and reducing the firmness and elasticity of the skin.
By reducing IL-6 and other pro-inflammatory agents, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 protects extracellular matrix components from degradation, preserving skin's natural youthfulness and boosting its replenishment. It also soothes the skin and reduces inflammation-caused pigmentation.
Active peptides are signal (messenger molecules) ingredients that work at the molecular level. That means you only need a small amount for them to perform well. Combining with palmitoyl tripeptide-5 theoretically works better than Matrixyl 3000 at the recommended usage rate.
While liquid peptides are fragile and have a shorter shelf life, our powder form palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 is much easier to store and maintain efficacy. This ease of use and maintenance is the primary reason we recommend the powder form of peptides, providing you with a comfortable and confident experience.
How to use it in your formula:
It is best to make a 0.005% glycerin solution.
The recommended usage: 5-8% of this solution.

Guidelines
Suggested Usage Rate: 0.00025-0.0004%.
To make a glycerin solution at 0.002%: Add 0.002g of this product to 99 grams of Glycerin. (only 0.002g is needed for 100g (1-3.5oz) of finished product). This level is slightly higher than that in Matrixyl 3000.
How to use it: Add the solution (at 5-8%) to the water phase at the cooldown phase (when the temperature is below 40°C (104°F). Or mix the solution with the proper amount of hyaluronic acid serum base to create your expensive serum, reaping all the benefits this ingredient can offer.
