Descriptions
INCI Name: Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7
CAS#: 221227-05-0
Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 is a synthetic peptide and signaling molecule used in cosmetics to increase skin firmness and collagen production. It's the major one of the two peptides in the Matrixyl 3000 duo. In the past, it was also called Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3.
Signal molecules act at the molecular level to initiate physiological processes. That means you only need a small amount for them to perform well. Combining with palmitoyl tripeptide-5 theoretically works better than Matrixyl 3000 at the recommended usage rate.
While liquid peptides are fragile and have a shorter shelf life, our powder form palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 is much easier to store and maintain efficacy. This ease of use and maintenance is the primary reason we recommend the powder form of peptides, providing you with a comfortable and confident experience.
How to use it in your formula:
It is best to make a 0.005% solution using propylene glycol as the solvent at a 1:10 ratio; add polysorbate 20 if needed; apply low heat (≤50°C) while stirring until fully dissolved; then add water, glycerin, and a preservative (preferably DF-PE9010 at 1%).
Level of difficulty:
Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 is a professional-level ingredient.
The recommended usage:
5-8% of this solution.
